Azure Cloud Engineer

A growing cloud team is looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to strengthen its capabilities in Azure governance, automation and infrastructure as code. You create and maintain Azure Policies and Initiatives, build CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, and develop infrastructure templates using ARM and Bicep. You write PowerShell to automate operational tasks and collaborate with architects, developers and delivery teams to align implementation with platform standards. Working in a structured, sprint-based environment, you contribute to a platform that underpins the cloud infrastructure of a major asset-management player. Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite.

• Create, configure and maintain Azure Policies and Initiatives to enforce security, compliance and operational standards; monitor compliance and execute remediation.
• Build and maintain YAML-based pipelines in Azure DevOps for CI/CD and configuration-as-code.
• Develop and manage ARM and Bicep templates to standardize Azure resource deployments.
• Write PowerShell scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and enforce governance.
• Collaborate with cloud architects, developers and delivery teams; participate in sprint ceremonies and governance/automation backlog items.
• Validate and test policies and infrastructure templates before production deployment; support delivery teams with policy remediation.
• Document solutions and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams.

• Hands-on Azure engineering, infrastructure automation and platform governance.
• Deep understanding of Azure Policy management, Initiative definitions and policy remediation workflows.
• Strong Azure DevOps incl. YAML pipeline design and release automation; ARM and Bicep IaC; solid PowerShell scripting.
• CI/CD, configuration-as-code and version control (Azure Repos, Git); Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor and compliance dashboards; Azure networking and security architecture.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Nice to have: C# and/or Python; AZ-104 / AZ-400 / AZ-305; regulated or audit-driven environments (SOx, ISAE, DORA); experience alongside managed service providers such as DXC or Fujitsu; native Dutch speaker.
