Biodata vs resume — send the right one
A common Filipino mix-up. The two documents are not interchangeable.
Biodata
Personal details — date of birth, civil status, religion, height, weight — usually with a 2×2 photo. Still requested for some government, teaching and traditional roles.
Resume ✓
Modern, skills-focused, 1–2 pages, ATS-readable. What BPOs, multinationals, tech companies and most private employers expect — and what you need for jobs abroad.
What Filipino employers expect from your resume
1–2 pages, reverse-chronological
One page for fresh graduates and most applicants; two for senior profiles. Lead with a 3–5 line professional summary, then your most recent experience first.
A 2×2 photo — for local roles
Local Filipino applications still commonly expect a 2×2 ID photo. Our photo templates handle it cleanly — and you can switch it off for international applications in one click.
Built for BPO & tech hiring
BPOs and tech employers screen for clear skills, communication and ATS-readable formatting. Skip references and over-long personal details — keep it sharp and scannable.

Filipino resumes — frequently asked questions
Biodata or resume — which one should I send in the Philippines?
They are different. A biodata is the traditional Filipino document that includes personal details — date of birth, civil status, religion, height, weight — usually with a 2×2 ID photo, and is still requested for some government, teaching and traditional roles. A resume is the modern, skills-focused document that BPOs, multinationals, tech companies and most private employers expect. For private-sector and international jobs, send a resume — not a biodata.
How long should a Filipino resume be?
One to two pages. Recruiters in the Philippines prefer a one-page resume for fresh graduates and anyone with under ~10 years of experience; two pages for more senior profiles. Use the reverse-chronological format (most recent role first) — it is what Filipino recruiters expect.
Should I put a 2×2 photo on my resume?
For local Filipino applications a 2×2 ID photo is still commonly expected, so include one. But for international or OFW applications — especially the Netherlands, UK, US and Canada — leave the photo and personal details off, as those markets follow anti-discrimination norms. CopilotResume lets you switch between photo and photo-free templates in one click.
Do Philippine employers and BPOs use ATS software?
Yes. Large employers, BPOs, and job platforms like JobStreet, Kalibrr, Indeed PH and LinkedIn run applications through ATS software before a recruiter sees them. Resumes with photos-as-tables, graphics or heavy formatting often get misread. CopilotResume templates are ATS-safe, and the built-in ATS Checker scores your resume against any job ad and shows the keywords you are missing.
I am an OFW applying for jobs abroad — how should my resume change?
Drop the 2×2 photo, date of birth and personal details, switch to a 1–2 page international format, and mirror the job ad’s exact keywords (overseas roles are heavily ATS-filtered). For Europe specifically, see our Dutch CV and German CV (Lebenslauf) guides — Germany still often expects a photo, the Netherlands does not.
Is CopilotResume free? What does it cost in pesos?
Building your resume is free. Premium — PDF export, the ATS Checker, AI tailoring to a job ad and interview practice — starts at ₱199, with a one-time ₱249 option. No auto-renewing subscription trap: pay once, use it, done.
