About the role

Within Financial Economic Crime (FEC) and Transaction Monitoring, a transformational change is underway to become best-in-class in managing emerging financial crime risks associated with Digital Assets and Crypto-related activities. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Crypto & Digital Assets to play a key role in the Global SIRA, RAS and policy-development processes, ensuring that risks related to cryptocurrencies, digital assets, Crypto-Asset Service Providers (CASPs) and related technologies are adequately identified, assessed, mitigated and governed. The SME is the centre of expertise on emerging digital-asset ecosystems, regulatory developments, financial crime risks and mitigation measures, supporting strategic decision-making and implementation across the organisation. Start ASAP. A personal motivation demonstrating the required competencies is requested.

What you'll do

  • Define and maintain risk and control frameworks for Digital Asset and Crypto-related risks (money laundering, sanctions evasion, fraud, market manipulation, market abuse and other emerging financial crime threats) — preventive and/or detective, manual and/or automated.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to operational teams, policy owners and senior management, providing expert guidance on Digital Asset topics, individual cases, emerging risks and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide global insights and expert guidance on Digital Asset and Crypto-related FEC assessments; deliver solicited and unsolicited advice to FEC, Compliance, Risk, business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain FEC policies, standards and governance frameworks related to Digital Assets and Crypto.
  • Monitor regulatory, industry and technological developments and translate them into risk assessments, policy updates and control enhancements.
  • Define and document effective risk-mitigation controls; manage implementation of new controls and enhancement of existing ones across FEC and business functions.
  • Contribute to the operationalisation of global procedures, standards and policies; support strategic initiatives on Tokenization, Stablecoins and emerging financial technologies.
  • Create and maintain narratives showing how the organisation identifies, assesses, monitors and mitigates Crypto/Digital Asset risks; build capability through coaching, training and knowledge sharing.
  • Periodically report on risk exposure, mitigation activities, control effectiveness and emerging developments in the Digital Asset ecosystem.

What you'll bring

  • Deep knowledge of Digital Assets, Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain technology and Tokenized Finance.
  • Strong understanding of Crypto-related financial crime risks (money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, market manipulation, fraud, market abuse).
  • Extensive knowledge of CASPs, crypto exchanges, custodians, stablecoins and Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
  • Thorough understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks: MiCA, AMLD, FATF guidance, Travel Rule and international crypto regulations.
  • Experience designing and implementing risk-mitigation frameworks, policies and controls for digital-asset businesses or financial institutions; understanding of blockchain analytics and transaction-monitoring solutions.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on delivery mindset; able to operate in highly complex, evolving regulatory environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication — able to influence across functions and seniority levels and translate technical concepts into business/regulatory language.
  • Master's degree or equivalent; 8+ years relevant experience in Financial Services, Compliance, Risk Management, Financial Crime, Digital Assets or Emerging Technologies.
  • Proven experience managing complex regulatory, risk or transformation initiatives; transformational, diplomatic leadership with strong ownership and knowledge-development capability.
