About the role
Working closely with Staatsolie management team, provide visible HSEQQ leadership and technical support to all assets and functions. Support and assist assets and functions in the application of Staatsolie Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Work with line-management and supervisors to help foster a zero-harm work culture by embedding hazard & risk management practices. Support the asset HSEQQ managers as a functional expert and carry out HSEQQ improvement initiatives. In addition, the Manager Corporate HSEQQ is responsible for developing and governing the corporate sustainability policy, ensuring the timely preparation of the annual sustainability report, and proactively driving actions that continuously enhance company-wide sustainability performance and awareness.
What you'll do
- Facilitate the implementation of integrated HSEQQ improvement activities aligned with asset priorities and organizational direction.
- Advocate, review and maintain the HSEQQ management system, policies, standards and procedures.
- Champion a hazard identification and risk assessment processes across the organization.
- Coordinate and support incident investigations on high-consequence incidents providing recommendations and corrective actions where required, cascade lessons learned.
- Test and monitor the emergency response process across the organization. Assure all locations have valid and up-to-date processes and these are tested periodically.
- Assure the accurate and timely reporting of HSEQQ performance indicators.
- Provide HSEQQ advice to the Board of Directors.
- Monitor HSEQ compliance across the organization.
- Build strategic alliances and maintain strategic relationships with external stakeholders.
- Lead the development, implementation and governance of corporate sustainability policies, ensure the timely preparation of the annual sustainability report, and initiate proactive actions to continuously improve sustainability performance and awareness across the company.
- Identify, define and resolve challenges and non-routine issues related to compliance in HSEQ and sustainability.
- Initiate and advise on process improvements to meet evolving HSEQ standards.
- Monitor and continuously strengthen the safety culture.
What you'll bring
- Preferably technical university degree level with relevant professional qualification.
- Minimum 10–15 years operational experience with at least 5–10 years of experience in managing HSEQ risk in an oil and gas or extraction industry.
- Experience with policies & procedures development and deployment.
- Knowledge of project management and risk management models.
- Knowledge of HSEQ standards and HSEQ management systems.
- Knowledge of HSEQ aspects and risks in the oil industry, including people safety and process safety.
- Knowledge of Incident Command System and methods for Root-Cause-Analysis.
- Self-motivated team player able to work as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Good written and verbal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate people — develop close working relationships with line management to support operations through effective advice and reassurance.
- Very strong influencing skills, plus the passion and presence to persuade asset management to drive HSEQ throughout their operations.
- Strong understanding of corporate sustainability practices and reporting standards, with the ability to translate sustainability objectives into organizational action.
